Welcome Home Lisa!

Lisa Banta, SAAVI's Health and Wellness Coordinator and Paralympian Goalball Gold Medalist is welcomed back by staff and students. Goalball is a team sport designed for blind athletes in which participants compete in teams of three and try to throw a ball that has bells embedded in it into the opponents goal. They must use the sound of the bell to judge the position and movement of the ball. Blindfolds allow partially sighted players to compete on an equal footing with blind players. Lisa and the USA Women's Goalball Team won the Gold Medal at the recent 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing , China . Lisa is a four time Paralympian participating at the previous games in Atlanta , Sydney Australia and Athens Greece . Go Lisa!!
